Assessment of individual learning
With an assessment of individual learning there are five main assessment components: development, delivery, scoring, analysis and reporting.
DeakinPrime has capabilities in each of these components and can assist organsiations with assessment capabilities.
DeakinPrime staff has considerable experience in working with a wide range of clients in developing assessment instruments. Assessment instruments might include constructed response questions (free text response) and objective questions (e.g. multiple-choice). DeakinPrime can also assist with more innovative question styles including simulations and case studies. Assessment instruments might be paper-based or electronically delivered or a combination of both.
DeakinPrime works with client organisations to deliver customised in-house assessment services. DeakinPrime through its association with Deakin University is also able to access a worldwide network of established, high quality exam venues for paper based examinations. Deakin’s services include the provision of experienced invigilators and secure printing, distribution and storage facilities.
DeakinPrime has a highly automated and secure process for the scanning of objective questions and the timely production of data for analysis.
DeakinPrime staff has a wide range of psychometric (educational measurement) skills and use a variety of tools including Classical Test Theory and Item Response Theory to analyse assessment items, to evaluate the assessment overall and ultimately to assess the individuals who undertake the assessment.
DeakinPrime can arrange for the release of student results through a number of ways such as conventional mail, the web, SMS. Arising from the analysis stage of assessments, DeakinPrime is also able to provide diagnostic feedback to candidates and other stakeholders.
