Effective leadership within any business is an essential requirement to achieve organisational goals contributing to the success of any company. Good leaders must be able to articulate a clear vision in order to motivate staff to be more innovative and productive, especially in today’s competitive landscape.
Key concepts of ways in which leaders can benefit businesses were highlighted in DeakinPrime’s Leadership boot camp with Dr Athena Vongalis-Macrow that was held on 12 November. The concepts addressed included understanding and building skills in:
- Communications—building an understanding of the organisational direction to enable clearly define roles and responsibilities
- Change Management—what strategies can be used to manage change
- Strategy—highlighting ways to articulate clear vision and create an environment with fosters open and engaging relationships between leaders and team members.
Participants were also required to conduct a self-assessment of their leadership style now and clarify their goals for future leadership. This combined with applying the strategies sets the foundations to becoming a better leader.
This boot camp benefits those people who are about to commence a leadership role or those in current leadership roles who could do with a little refresher, either way up skilling and creating effective leadership provides many benefits to individuals and businesses, and will in the long term assist organisations to achieve success and stability.
