DeakinDigital is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Hann as new Chief Executive Officer.
Simon has been Chief Executive Officer of Deakin University’s corporate business training arm, DeakinPrime, for four years. Effective 29 February 2016, he will assume responsibility for both roles with a focus on strategic growth.
Simon succeeds past DeakinDigital CEO, Allyn Radford, who is stepping down after two years in the role.
DeakinDigital is an innovative education model that allows people to convert life and work experiences into Credentials. The DeakinDigital team launched their Credentialing program in 2014, with Allyn Radford leading the conceptualisation and launch.
Mr Radford said: “It has been a great privilege to work with Deakin University, who have set themselves apart as Australia’s higher education innovation engine, to start up DeakinDigital. Building DeakinDigital with my team to establish one of the most significant changes in education has been immensely satisfying. I have known Mr. Hann for years and have full confidence that he can take DeakinDigital to new heights, especially when leveraging the strong team currently in place.”
Mr Hann said: “Now that DeakinDigital has successfully gained recognition and established a foothold in the industry, it is the ideal time for a new leadership team with a strong operational focus and experience building educational infrastructure to step in and take the business to new levels. We will focus on the continued growth of the DeakinDigital brand.”
Mr Hann thanked Mr Radford for his invaluable contribution to the business.
“When the idea for DigitalDigital was first formulated, Allyn Radford was the natural choice for CEO. Over the past two years, Allyn has successfully set up a strong Credentialing program that many leading companies have begun to utilise with their workforce. His time with DeakinDigital has been invaluable,” said Mr. Hann.
Although DeakinDigital and DeakinPrime will remain as two separate entities, they will continue to operate in a way that compliments one another. This change in leadership and new responsibility for Mr. Hann is a natural succession.
“With DeakinPrime now operating for 25 years with a strong leadership team and a well-known presence in the market, I will focus more energy on the continued growth of DeakinDigital,” Mr Hann said.
