Deakin University and National Australia Bank (NAB) today proudly announced a landmark partnership, to allow for greater access to research and education for advisers across the whole NAB network. As part of a market leading strategy, the two will unite as part of a commitment to increasing the professional standards of the financial planning industry.
Deakin will help NAB become an employer of choice for financial advisers and a partner of choice for licensees, by providing access to skills, services and support across Deakin University. Through the partnership, Deakin will work with NAB to lift transparency and professionalism across the industry, leading to improved outcomes for NAB clients.
Executive General Manager, Wealth Advice, Greg Miller explained that today’s announcement allows advisers across NAB’s whole network the opportunity to tap into the skills, services and resources of one of the leaders of higher education.
“We want to support advisers who want to continue their education. This new agreement with Deakin will provide our advisers with access to research into changes in the financial planning profession and the changing needs of consumers. Both undergraduate and postgraduate courses will be available, with advisers able to study online or face-to-face depending on the course,” Mr Miller said.
NAB believes that increasing the education and qualification standards for financial advisers is a key component to increasing professional standards. Furthermore NAB are committed to supporting their advisers on a pathway to higher education that is right for them. As such, NAB partnered with Deakin to develop higher education services that will be made available financial advisers across its large national network.
“Deakin has been working closely with NAB to lead the financial planning industry in developing end-to-end training solutions specifically for those advisers whose futures will be impacted by the new legislation. The combined offering of the various Deakin operational arms allows us to provide a uniquely flexible, innovative and integrated solution, able to recognise existing professional experience. In this instance, it will enable NAB financial advisers to put their existing years of considerable experience towards obtaining the new qualification levels.”
We are very excited to have entered this partnership with NAB. This collaboration further strengthens our position to offer an effective solution to thousands across the country in need of support to ensure the security of their careers and to enhance the service they provide to their customers,” said Simon Hann, CEO DeakinPrime and DeakinDigital.
As a strategic partner Deakin will support NAB with access to qualified academics whose work continues to inform the financial planning industry. In addition, Deakin will proudly offer existing NAB financial advisers and new entrants:
- Individual gap assessment and personalised support
- An internationally recognised innovative and flexible delivery model
- A world first approach to higher education through professional practice credentialing program
